Kiwi Ball – Flight NZ 2026

The Kiwi Ball is back again for it’s 10th year! Tickets are NOW on sale for the Hong Kong Flight NZ 2026 Kiwi Ball on Saturday 16th May 2026 7pm.

In keeping with our FLIGHT NZ theme, the Kiwi Ball will be held at the wonderful Regala Sky City Hotel located on Lantau Island adjacent to the Hong Kong International Airport. It will be a fantastic night celebrating all that’s wonderful about Aotearoa.

This year’s theme, FLIGHT NZ is inspired by New Zealand’s rich aviation history, including the remarkable achievements of Kiwis, such as Richard Pearse and Jean Batten. As an island nation, aviation has been a part of our narrative, from the early 19th century when balloon flights began, to launching rockets into space. For a country where our national icon is a flightless bird, Kiwis have been taking off in wonderful ways!

Come and join an evening of great food and entertainment including:

  • An extensive buffet meal
  • New Zealand wine and beer
  • Kapa Haka performance
  • Live band
  • Free shuttle buses to and from a Central pickup location
  • Artist exhibition
  • Giveaways

Special guest contemporary artist Alex Leung will be displaying his fantastic art work at the Kiwi Ball. Alex has returned to his birthplace Hong Kong, after living in New Zealand.

It’s an event not to be missed!

Celebrating New Zealand’s night sky, including our Aurora Australis and stunning Southern Constellations, with world renowned New Zealand artist Veronica Green exhibiting her work while M.C. Luke Bird entertained the night away all topped off with a fabulous Kiwi-centric menu and drinks from Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong.

2017
‘Flora and fauna’
– A Rooftop Ball

What a showcase of kiwi talents with kapa haka powhiri welcome and performance, world renowned graffiti artists Charles and Janine Williams, the Modern Maori Quartet and of course great drinks and a delicious Kiwi inspired dinner menu.

2016  ‘Beats of the Pacific’
– Celebrating our pacific island status

Fancy frocks, fancy dance moves and a few pacific styled shirts as kiwi’s and friends of New Zealand, came together to celebrate all that is good with kiwi connections in our Hong Kong home.

2015  ‘The Best of Both Worlds’
– A celebration of being from New Zealand and living in Hong Kong.

What a great combination of fish n chups and dim sum, lion dance and haka. Our Special Kiwi Guest who is a mix of Maori and Chinese descent (among others) graced us with his presence and his beautiful art donated for auction to Plastic Free Seas Hong Kong, our chosen charity.

2014 ‘World Famous in New Zealand’
 – A Celebration of those who have helped shape NZ and put us on the map.

Tables were named after awesome Kiwi’s who have done NZ proud. Te Hokioi did a rendition of Lorde’s ‘Royal’s’ to tie in nicely with our theme.

We reflected on those of our heroes who are still with us and those who have passed on.

World Famous in HK is our very own Kiwi Flyers Dragon Boat team!

2013 ‘Beached As’
– A Celebration of Summer, Kiwi Style

Tables were named after beautiful Kiwi beaches from around New Zealand.  Being summer in HK, it was the only way to celebrate in 2013 with a few fun props, sandcastles, messages in a bottle and the crew from Treasure Island Group in South Lantau adding their beach flavour to the evening.

2012  ‘Matariki’
– The Maori New Year

Matariki is the name of a small cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades that is visible around June each year in New Zealand and heralds the Māori New Year. In addition to many other traditions, Matariki was a time when people would gather to share kai, rituals, entertainment, hospitality and learnings. Given the timing and the focus on gathering together, Matariki was a perfect theme for the Kiwi Ball 2012.
